Planning for play at Dinmont
Residents at Dinmont estate both children and adults would like bigger swings in their play area. One Mum said 'my 4 year old can get in this swing but can't get out without help, I had real trouble lifting her out while I was pregnant.'
Kausar can just about get in it but if he tries to swing his head hits the bar!
When children were asked what would improve their play space they wanted bigger swings, fake grass on the football pitch and a rollercoaster. The space is too small for a roller coaster and I think neighbours would complain about noise and queues (rightly so) but a group of residents, the Keep Playing team and Tower Hamlets Community Housing staff have written a Play Plan and are looking into funding possibilities.
