Food and Lunches

At Maundy Relief we offer free community lunches 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday between 12.00 noon and 12.30 pm. All our welcome.

We also offer food parcels to anyone in need from our drop-in centre.

To speak to us about food parcels for you and your family, please call 01254 232328

Counselling

We have trained, experienced, professional counsellors ready to help anyone who needs their support. This service is open to the entire community. It doesn’t matter who you are, your age, gender, race, religion, or sexuality, we are here to listen and help.

We take referrals from the NHS, Social Services, Probation, but our counselling is open to all so we’re happy to take self-referrals too.

To access the Maundy Relief Counselling Service:

We are open Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4.00pm.

We will take your contact details so that we can get in touch with you to arrange an initial assessment. Assessments take approximately half an hour and are usually available within a week.

Our counsellors give their time freely as volunteers but the service costs money to run. You will be asked to make a contribution towards this cost at your assessment but inability to pay is not a barrier to the service.

Outreach

The main purpose of Maundy Relief is to provide an inclusive service to the entire community. That means if you need one of our services but can’t come to us, we will come to you.

If you, or someone you know needs a home visit, please contact us on 01254 659686, or email outreach@Maundyrelief.org.uk

Advice

Our trained advisers can provide confidential advice on many issues including:

  • Benefit applications and sanctions
  • Employment issues and rights at work
  • Housing and accommodation

Our advisors are trained to offer support throughout the time you need help and after.

Key Scheme

Maundy Relief Key Scheme aims to provide those in need with a suitable home from a reputable landlord.

We can also help with the paperwork needed to get people started with a tenancy. Once you’ve moved in, we will continue to provide the support necessary to make the tenancy a success and you will have access to all the other services provided by Maundy Relief.

To talk to us about the Maundy Relief Key Scheme and to see if you are eligible call the Key Scheme staff on 01254 659686.

All our referrals form the Key Scheme come directly from Hyndburn Borough Council Housing Advice Team.

Access to Health Care

Maundy Relief Health is an established service run by a registered nurse with many years of experience working within the National Health Service and is supported by local GPs.

This service is available to anyone in need of health advice. We can offer support on physical and mental health issues.

Open on Mondays and Fridays. To make an appointment, please call us on 01254 232 328

Anger Management

The aim of anger management is to help people deal with their strong feelings and be aware of what causes anger. Anger management helps you understand and recognise when you are getting angry and how that makes other people around you feel.

Anger management services are not generally available on the NHS or other public services in East Lancashire.

  • If you are feeling depressed or suffering from anxiety
  • If you’re having trouble making friends
  • If you’re having problems at home, school or college
