Keith Jefferies

Keith Drums

Keith Jefferies grew up in Stroud, Gloucestershire with his brothers Mark and Shaun.

Six years separated the three of them.

Keith very quickly developed his incessant tapping on the dining room table into joyful drumming performances that displayed a naturally gifted musical talent.

It was with the folk Rock & Roll foursome ‘The Stone Saloon’ that Keith enjoyed his most success as the drummer in a band. Ben Lee, Tom Sandall and Mike Maddams continue to play to this day as ‘The Revue’ and are impassioned supporters of The Keith Jefferies Foundation.

Sharing a love for music was Keith’s passion and he worked with Stroud Valley Primary School, Archway and Maidenhill in his local area as well as volunteering as a Young Persons Ambassador with the Bristol branch of The Princes Trust.

Keith Jefferies Drum Tuition was established with the help of The Princes Trust from a converted garage studio at his family home and Keith regularly taught over a dozen students of all ages, enabling them to complete exams or fulfill their ambitions.

What is important to impress here is how synonymous Keith Jefferies was with music, laughter and an abundantly generous warmth and sense of humour, headlined by the broadest of smiles.

In November 2010 Keith lost his fight against blot clots that formed on his lungs. The musical legacy which he left behind quickly rallied to perform the ‘Concert for Keith’ at the Gloucester Guild Hall on what would have been his birthday; January 27th 2011. The sell-out night raised over £6,000 for charities close to Keith’s life, The Prince’s Trust and Help for Heroes.

From that moment Keith’s legacy was clear and The Keith Jefferies Foundation began it’s journey.
